Dr Lorenzo Garagnani

Mr Lorenzo Garagnani is a renowned international expert on diagnosis and treatment of hand and wrist disorders and a pioneer of safer anatomically based techniques for non-surgical hand rejuvenation.

Having qualified in Medicine and Surgery obtaining a master’s degree with Distinction, Mr Garagnani subsequently specialised in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Bologna (Italy) where he trained at the world-renowned Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute. He completed his advanced training in adult and paediatric Hand & Wrist Surgery in the UK.

As a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England he holds the European Diploma in Hand Surgery as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic & Wellness Medicine. In addition, he is co-founder and first Lead surgeon of the OrthoPlastic Hand Unit at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where his NHS practice is based. He is also Honorary Reader at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine of King’s College London university.

Mr Garagnani’s research focuses on the development and adoption of innovative and minimally invasive techniques for increased safety in surgical and non-surgical hand and wrist treatment, and he has authored numerous peer reviewed publications/articles, regularly speaking at global conferences.

In 2022, he was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy (OSI) in recognition both of his international surgical career, achievements and the coordination of a volunteers’ task-force during the Covid-19 pandemic.
