Lead Musculoskeletal & Sports Medicine Specialist

Dr Naheem Ali

Dr Ali is the lead musculoskeletal (MSK) and sports medicine doctor at Lanserhof at The Arts Club. With over 15 years’ experience of treating patients, working in professional sport, private practice and the NHS, he is currently the Club Doctor at Millwall FC, a professional football team that competes in the EFL Championship.

Trained in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, as well as in general practice with an interest in MSK and sports medicine, Dr Ali has worked in the spinal unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), the orthopaedic unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and more recently in MSK hubs providing care to patients with joint, tendon and back problems.

An advocate of multidisciplinary approaches, Dr Ali effectively liaises with our personal trainers, physiotherapists, biomechanics team, lifestyle doctors and orthopaedic specialists to achieve optimal results for his patients.

Consultant Cardiologist

Professor Michael Papadakis

Professor Papadakis is a Professor in Cardiology at St George’s, University of London and Consultant Cardiologist at Lanserhof at The Arts Club.

His interests in preventive cardiology, sports cardiology and inherited heart conditions are highlighted in his role as the president for the European Association of Preventive Cardiology and having held the chair of the European section of Sports Cardiology and Exercise.

He has also contributed to international projects that have shaped education in preventive cardiology, launching a novel MSc degree in Sports Cardiology in 2016 at St George’s University of London. To date he has been credited with more than 100 publications in peer reviewed medical journals, and numerous presentations in national and international conferences

Professor Papadakis is also consultant to Cardiac Risk in the Young (a charitable organisation that annually screens more than 30,000 young individuals for heart disease), as well as to the English Institute of Sport, the England and Wales Cricket Board and Rugby Football Union.

Sport Scientist

Edoardo D’Alessio

Edoardo D’Alessio’s earned a First-Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the prestigious University of Rome, gaining a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of human movement, exercise physiology, and sports performance.

With this foundation, he went on to pursue an MSc in Strength and Conditioning from Middlesex University, furthering his knowledge on resistance training, injury prevention, and recovery strategies, whilst obtaining valuable experience in applying these concepts to real-life situations.

Having worked with elite rugby clubs in the UK, he has honed his skills in developing and implementing customized training programs for athletes of all levels. In addition, his expertise in biomechanics, the study of human movement and its underlying mechanisms has allowed him to assess and optimize the technical aspects of sports performance.

At Lanserhof Performance, Edoardo leverages his vast knowledge and experience to design and conduct a wide range of assessments to help clients optimize their physical performance and improve their overall health and well-being.

Lead Sport & Exercise Physiologist

Kiran Chopra

Kiran Chopra earned his Honours Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the Institute of Technology, Carlow (now South Eastern Technological University) in 2018. He subsequently completed an MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham in 2019. As a BASES-accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist and Chartered Scientist (CSci) with The Science Council, he possesses a diverse range of certifications, including anthropometry, phlebotomy, and ECG interpretation.

Having collaborated with Division I NCAA Universities in the United States and the U17 Men’s National Irish Basketball team, Kiran has extensive experience on both national and international levels. He also has multiple publications in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, with a particular emphasis on the effects of ischemic preconditioning on physiological responses to hypoxic exercise.

At Lanserhof Performance, Kiran conducts comprehensive assessments of clients’ cardiopulmonary and metabolic health, offering tailored therapeutic recommendations to enhance their overall well-being.

Head of Movement & Exercise Science

Jason Reynolds

Jason Reynolds is a seasoned sports scientist with nearly 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of fitness and sports. As a former schoolboy footballer, Jason’s career took an unexpected turn following a serious injury that led him on a path to rehabilitation. He was able to transform this adversity into a passion for helping others recover, guiding his decision to pursue a career dedicated to the science of fitness and rehabilitation.

Jason’s experience is enriched by his extensive collaborations with some of London’s finest surgeons, providing exceptional post-operative care and rehabilitation to patients. His expertise in bridging the gap between surgery and full recovery has been instrumental in many success stories, enabling individuals to regain their strength and return to their active lifestyles.

Currently, Jason serves as the Head of exercise & movement science at Lanserhof Performance, the UK’s premier Performance testing & rehabilitation establishment. He continues to contribute his knowledge and skills to the development and execution of top-tier fitness programs that cater to a diverse clientele.
