Dr Ali is the lead musculoskeletal (MSK) and sports medicine specialist at Lanserhof at The Arts Club. With over 15 years’ experience of treating patients, working in professional sport, private practice and the NHS, he is currently the Club Doctor at Millwall FC, a professional football team that competes in the EFL Championship.
Trained in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, as well as in general practice with an interest in MSK and sports medicine, Dr Ali has worked in the spinal unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), the orthopaedic unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and more recently in MSK hubs providing care to patients with joint, tendon and back problems.
His special interests include: back pain, prevention of osteoarthritis, MSK sonography, the management of acute MSK/sports injuries, stress fractures, tendon injuries (particularly the Achilles and patella tendon) and shoulder conditions (such as frozen shoulder and rotator cuff tears). In addition, Dr Ali utilises ultrasound scanning to carry out guided joint and soft tissue injections for pain relief and joint regeneration.
An advocate of multidisciplinary approaches, Dr Ali effectively liaises with our personal trainers, physiotherapists, biomechanics team, lifestyle doctors and orthopaedic specialists to achieve optimal results for his patients.
