November 09, 2021 THE HEALTH PODCAST #30 – Real Life Superhero: Tony Hudgell
Tony Hudgell is a very smiley and inspirational young man, who is joined on the podcast by his adoptive mother, Paula. At the age of 7, Tony is a 2021 Pride of Britain award winner, who has raised an incredible £1.8 million for the NHS to date. Tony’s mission is to enhance the lives of children who have been affected by physical, emotional, or psychological abuse.
Tony is a double amputee, and last year walked for the first time with crutches. Inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore, Tony set his own challenge in 2020 to walk 10km on his prosthetic legs which he magnificently completed. Paula and Mark Hudgell adopted Tony after his biological parents abused him so horrifically. Tony was just one month old when he was admitted to the Evelina London Children’s Hospital in Southwark, with multiple fractures, multiple organ failure and sepsis, thus causing both his legs to be amputated.
Listen to hear about the incredible work Tony does, and more information on the Tony Hudgell Foundation.
